About Us
JOIN for Teens serves Baltimore area Jewish teens in all segments of the community by providing:
- Recreational, vocational, social, educational and preventive programs
- Mentoring programs
- Connections to resources
- Staff of Teen Outreach workers
- Special teen events
- 24-hour TEEN HOTLINE 410-988-8001
- Consultations with schools
- Services for Russian speaking community
- Parenting programs
JOIN for Teens is a collaborative project of Jewish Community Services and the Jewish Community Center, agencies of THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.
JOIN for Teens staff work with teens ages 11-18 who:
- Attend public, private, alternative, trade schools and community colleges as well as those who are presently not in school
- Are engaging in high risk behaviors such as drug and alcohol use, truancy, sexual promiscuity and behaviors associated with eating disorders.
JOIN for Teens staff:
- Can be found where teens are; out in the community, connecting with teens on the streets, at the Mitchell David Teen Center, at the JCC, local hangouts, and synagogues
- Develop, supervise and facilitate recreational opportunities and small group discussions at the Teen Center, JCC, and other community sites
- Connect teens and their families with resources, programs, and professionals (such as social workers, rabbis and teachers)
